Running follow-up consultations

Follow-up consultations are enabled at programme group level. When enabled, a follow up consultation appointment is auto assigned at a predetermined interval after a screening appointment.

A client's medical is associated with their screening appointment; therefore, on the follow-up schedule, there is no option to Start a medical.

A follow-up product can be allocated to a programme group, generating a medical for a healthcare professional to record follow-up notes to share with the client.

How to create a follow-up product

  • From the top bar click on More > select Products > click on New Product.
  • Select Follow-up consultation from the  Product Type drop down menu.
  • Select any required processing options.
  • Select the Follow-up consultation test category > click Create.

How to assign a follow-up product

  • From the top bar click on More > select Programme Groups > click Edit beside the required group > click Edit Group Configuration.
  • Under Options, ensure Yes is selected for  Separate follow-up appointment? 
  • In the Dates section, under Follow up appointment from / until dates, select your follow up product from the Product drop down menu.

How to add follow-up consultation notes

  • From the top bar click on Schedule > select Schedule from the drop down menu.
  • Navigate to the required clinic date.
  • In the Actions column, click on the three dot menu beside the client's name > select Start follow up from the drop down menu.
  • A follow up consultation product will be created and opened.
  • To indicate a positive outcome for a follow-up consultation, choose Normal from the dropdown menu. Opting for Abnormal will flag it as needing attention with an amber flag.
  • Add required follow up notes.
  • Click Submit for review > click Approve > click Dispatch.

A follow up consultation product is only created when Start follow-up is selected.
