Spirometry is a test used to assess lung function by measuring the volume of air that can be expelled from the lungs after a maximum deep breath in.

Questionnaire

This health category includes questionnaire data on personal and family history of asthma or COPD and if the client currently smokes.

Mandatory: Does the client currently have a cold, spirometry result

Non-mandatory: Spirometry grade, FVC, FEV1, FEV1/FVC, TLC, VC, RV

Interpretations

🟢 Green flag: Indicates a normal spirometry result

🟡 Amber flag: Indicates one of the following:

  • A restrictive, obstructive or mixed pattern result with severity unassigned.
  • Mild restrictive, obstructive or mixed pattern result
  • Moderate restrictive, obstructive or mixed pattern result

🔴 Red flag: Indicates one of the following:

  • Severe restrictive, obstructive or mixed pattern result
