Interim Results – Identifying Abnormal Results During Processing
The Interim Results feature provides early visibility of laboratory results that fall outside the normal reference range while a medical is still in Processing.
Results are highlighted by severity, allowing reviewers to identify medicals with abnormal results before the medical has been submitted for review.
Interim results are displayed in three areas of the platform:
- Medical: Abnormal results are highlighted within the Laboratory section, with a count of the number of red and amber results displayed in the left sidebar.
- Medicals page: The Interim result column can be added to display the highest severity flag and the number of results outside the normal reference range for each medical. Users can also create a saved view with this column and their preferred filters to support efficient triaging and prioritisation of medicals for review.
- Medicals filters: The Interim result filter allows users to display all medicals with abnormal results or narrow the results to a specific severity, such as Phone call or Attention.
Viewing Interim Results within a Medical
- From the top navigation bar, select Medicals > Medicals.
- Open a medical with a status of Processing.
- From the left sidebar, under Clinical, select Laboratory.
Results falling outside the normal reference range are highlighted using the relevant colour coding. The Laboratory section in the left sidebar also displays a count of results flagged red or amber
Viewing Interim Results on the Medicals Page
The Interim result column provides a summary of abnormal results for each medical while it is in Processing.
The column displays the highest severity identified, together with the total number of results that fall outside the normal range. This allows users to prioritise medicals for review.
Possible indicators include:
- Phone call (Red): One or more results have been identified as requiring a phone call.
- Attention (Amber): One or more results have been flagged as requiring attention.
- No concerns (Green): No abnormal results have been identified.
