Full Blood Count

A full blood count (FBC) is used to check a person's general health as well as screen for specific conditions, such as anaemia. The test will check for the number of red cells, white cells and platelets in the blood among other things.

This health category includes questionnaire data on personal and family history of anaemia, menstruation (if applicable), and diet.

Mandatory: haemoglobin, white cell count

Non-mandatory: Platelets, neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils

Interpretations

Flag assignment and report content are generated to reflect the relevant combinations of data inputs from questionnaire responses and laboratory results.

🟢 Green flag: Indicates all recorded results were normal.

🟡 Amber flag: Indicates any of the following:

  • Low haemoglobin, platelets, neutrophils, lymphocytes, basophils, eosinophils, and/or monocytes
  • Borderline high haemoglobin, basophils, and/or monocytes
  • High platelets, white cell count, neutrophils, lymphocytes, and/or eosinophils

🔴 Red flag: Indicates any of the following:

  • Very low haemoglobin, platelets, white cell count, neutrophils, and/or lymphocytes
  • High haemoglobin and/or monocytes
  • Very high platelets, white cell count, neutrophils, lymphocytes, basophils, and/or eosinophils
