Alcohol US-AUDIT

US-AUDIT is an internationally recognised tool adapted to follow national guidelines, which is used to assess alcohol consumption and identify individuals with patterns of hazardous and harmful alcohol consumption.

Data Inputs
Questionnaire Yes
Measurements No
Lab results No

This questionnaire-only health category begins with a single conditional question:

How often do you have a drink containing alcohol?

  • If the response is Never, no further questions are presented.

  • If the client indicates they do consume alcohol, two additional conditional questions follow:

How many drinks containing alcohol do you have on a typical day when you are drinking?
How often do you have six or more drinks on one occasion?

If the client reports either:

  • Consuming more than 12 drinks on a typical drinking day, or

  • Consuming six or more drinks on one occasion monthly or more frequently, then seven additional questions on drinking patterns are presented to further assess risk.

Based on the responses, results are classified using a colour-coded system:

🟢 Green flag: Indicates no or low-risk drinking

🟡 Amber flag: Indicates hazardous drinking behaviour

🔴 Red flag: Indicates harmful drinking or possible alcohol dependence
